The problem is a natural generalization of the classical traveling salesman problem. For finding an optimal solution, we give a dynamic programming scheme, which is equivalent to a method of finding a shortest path in an appropriate acyclic oriented weighted graph. We justify conditions under which the complexity of the algorithm depends on the number of megalopolises polynomially, in particular, linearly.},

We also suggest a new way of measuring corporate e-reputation and its determinants. We quantitatively analyze the effect of Wikipedia and its key features on the corporate e-reputation of companies that are listed on the French stock market SBF 120®. Our results show that Wikipedia has an impact on corporate e-reputation across several dimensions, including the articles' quality and reputation, the latter resulting from a combination of the authors' rigor and diversity, and the immediacy of information provision.},

Furthermore, the tool that defines which project is eligible to the French research tax credit came as a solution to homogenise the different interpretations of multiple consultants working for the same client.},

abstract = {Mining frequent itemsets from transactional datasets is a well known problem. Thus, various methods have been studied to deal with this issue. Recently, original proposals have emerged from the cross-fertilization between data mining and artificial intelligence. In these declarative approaches, the itemset mining problem is modeled either as a constraint network or a propositional formula whose models correspond to the patterns of interest. In this paper, we focus on the propositional satisfiability based itemset mining framework. Our main goal is to enhance the efficiency of SAT model enumeration algorithms. This issue is particularly crucial for the scalability and competitiveness of such declarative itemset mining approaches. In this context, we deeply analyse the effect of the different SAT solver components on the efficiency of the model enumeration problem. Our analysis includes the main components of modern SAT solvers such as restarts, activity based variable ordering heuristics and clauses learning mechanism. Through extensive experiments, we show that these classical components play an essential role in such procedure to improve the performance by pushing forward the efficiency of SAT solvers. More precisely, our experimental evaluation includes a comparative study in enumerating all the models corresponding to the closed frequent itemsets. Additionally, our experimental analysis is extended to include the Top-k itemset mining problem.},

abstract = {For the last two decades, most financial markets have undergone an evolution toward electronification. The market for corporate bonds is one of the last major financial markets to follow this unavoidable path. Traditionally quote-driven (i.e., dealer-driven) rather than order-driven, the market for corporate bonds is still mainly dominated by voice trading, but a lot of electronic platforms have emerged. These electronic platforms make it possible for buy-side agents to simultaneously request several dealers for quotes, or even directly trade with other buy-siders. The research presented in this paper is based on a large proprietary database of requests for quotes (RFQ) sent, through the multi-dealer-to-client (MD2C) platform operated by Bloomberg Fixed Income Trading, to one of the major liquidity providers in European corporate bonds. Our goal is (i) to model the RFQ process on these platforms and the resulting ...},

The first model, called Rosensweig's model, consists of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, the angular momentum equation, the magnetization equation of Bloch-Torrey type, and the magnetostatic equations. The second one, called Shliomis model, is obtained by assuming that the angular momentum is given in terms of the magnetic field, the magnetization field and the vorticity. It consists of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation, the magnetization equation and the magnetostatic equations. We prove, for each of the differential systems posed in a bounded domain of R3 and equipped with boundary conditions, existence of weak solutions by using regularization techniques, linearization and the Schauder fixed point theorem.},

Starting from the Gaussian approach of Liu et al. (2014), we consider some multifactor models for the mortality and interest rates based on more general affine models which remain positive and we derive pricing formulas for insurance contracts like Guaranteed Annuity Options (GAOs). In a Wishart affine model, which allows for a non-trivial dependence between the mortality and the interest rates, we go far beyond the results found in the Gaussian case by Liu et al. (2014), where the value of these insurance contracts can be explained only in terms of the initial pairwise linear correlation.},

abstract = {Firms from emerging markets are constantly looking for additional competitive advantages, a source of organizational growth, and possibilities for value creation in a global context. Scullion et al. (2010) and Scullion and Collings (2011) argue that talent management (TM) has become very important in firms' global operations. There is a growing recognition that a firm's success mainly depends on, among other factors, human resource management (HRM) (Tarique and Schuler 2010) and managerial and professional talent as key resources for companies in the internationalization process (Farndale et al. 2010). It is generally recognized that the complexity of TM in MNCs is higher than in domestic firms due to the more demanding skill sets required by MNCs to create value in supporting organizational growth. Beechler and Woodward (2009) identify four main factors that create an environment that promotes a war for talent and that impact on TM characteristics at the global and national level: global demographic and economic trends; an increase of mobility of people and organizations; transformation in the business environment; and the growing diversity in workforce skills and cultures. Creelman (2004) has defined TM as the process of attracting, recruiting, and retaining talented employees, whereas Chuai et al. (2008) associate TM with activities that include incorporating new knowledge and doing things more quickly and efficiently for organizational growth. For some authors, TM is a mindset to ensure that all employees perform to the best of their potential (Buckingham and Vosburgh 2001; Walker and Larocco 2002). At this point we see the importance of identifying a role for TM in both value creation and a firm's performance results. We use the Russian context due to the fact that TM in Russian companies is not widespread, though firms have become important players in the global market due to an increased involvement in internationalization (Panibratov 2012). Based on this idea, I have formulated the following research questions that guided me in my empirical research:
1.
What are the specific TM practices implemented in Russian companies?
2.
Is the role of TM in Russian firms more strategic or more operational?
3.
How does TM influence a firm's performance in the Russian context?},

The use of the notion of materiality causes a conflation of different ontological claims, and a conceptual clarification is needed to grasp the polysemy of materiality. This paper provides some key notions for those interested in addressing the materiality of the affective register at work. By drawing on authors such as Lacan, Althusser, Butler and the Essex Lacanian School, this paper suggests that much is to be gained by addressing two difficult but crucial notions: the materiality of the signifier and ideological fantasy.},

abstract = {Pipelines are the very important energy transmission systems. Over time, pipelines can corrode. While corrosion could be detected by in-line inspection (ILI) tools, corrosion growth rate prediction in pipelines is usually done through corrosion rate models. For pipeline integrity management and planning selecting the proper corrosion ILI tool and also corrosion growth rate model is important and can lead to significant savings and safer pipe operation. In this paper common forms of pipeline corrosion, state of the art ILI tools, and also corrosion growth rate models are reviewed. The common forms of pipeline corrosion introduced in this paper are Uniform/General Corrosion, Pitting Corrosion, Cavitation and Erosion Corrosion, Stray Current Corrosion, Micro-Bacterial Influenced Corrosion (MIC). The ILI corrosion detection tools assessed in this study are Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL), Circumferential MFL, Tri-axial MFL, and Ultrasonic Wall Measurement (UT). The corrosion growth rate models considered in this study are single-value corrosion rate model, linear corrosion growth rate model, non-linear corrosion growth rate model, Monte-Carlo method, Markov model, TD-GEVD, TI-GEVD model, Gamma Process, and BMWD model. Strengths and limitations of ILI detection tools, and also corrosion predictive models with some practical examples are discussed. This paper could be useful for those whom are supporting pipeline integrity management and planning.},

The technique is based on an extended homogenization scheme where the averaging operators are replaced by linear filters to cut off fine scale fluctuations, while maintaining locally varying mechanical fields with larger wavelength. As a result, the constitutive law at an intermediate scale, called mesoscale, arises to be naturally nonlocal by construction, where the kernel operator is fully constructed by computations on the unit cell associated with the microstructure.},

potential of the regulation of labour standards in global value chains
(GVCs). Nevertheless, we still lack a framework integrating the contextual
determinants, processes, regulatory mechanisms, and outcomes of the
regulation of labour standards in GVCs. This paper identifies the key
processes in play as workers' voice, vicarious voice, international campaigning,
and multi-scalar industrial action and shows how such processes lead to
particular forms of labour regulation in GVCs. Two pathways are identified
that include context variables and processes and lead to the implementation
of regulatory mechanisms: the consumer power pathway and the labour
power pathway. We then describe and analyze the factors that determine
the shift from implementation to actual outcomes thereby contributing to a
better understanding of the issue in theory and practice.},

abstract = {This paper investigates to what extent internal R&D efforts and different types of external knowledge sources jointly affect innovation performance of firms in emerging economies. Based on a survey about external knowledge sourcing activities of Chinese innovative firms, we categorize external knowledge sources into four groups: science-based partners; horizontal connections; value chain partners, and technology service providers. We find that both internal R&D activities and external knowledge sourcing have a positive effect on firms' innovation performance. Strong internal R&D capabilities also increase the effect of sourcing from value chain partners and horizontal connections, but we do not find support for complementarity between internal R&D and collaborations with universities and research labs. These findings jointly suggest that the mixture of different types of external knowledge partners in combination with internal R&D capabilities is crucial in understanding the role of open innovation in emerging economies.},

abstract = {The concept of open innovation encompasses a wide range of external actors that an organisation might need to share and acquire knowledge with. While there is much hype about open innovation, as of yet there is no framework to decide how open innovation might be useful. In our research we cite four theories linked with open innovation. Through the literature analysis, we develop a framework called 'competitive innovation matrix' for using open innovation within project development, at the very start of the process. The framework is to be tested in future empirical research work. We aim to highlight that open innovation, when applied prior to close innovation, would rather shift from being a risk to being an opportunity. In any case, when a firm share its ideas open, it would expect to receive others' ideas as well. Accordingly, we provide an overall framework for employing both open and closed innovation, one that shows how open innovation has clear benefits for sharing problem solving at the initial research phase of the project.},

We apply human capital theory to show how language may be valued in an organizational context. In our work we use a framework that demonstrates that corporate language may act as a glass ceiling. The results show that employees in Russian MNCs with a lower level of corporate language skills will be less likely to consider vertical and horizontal career mobility than employees with a higher level of these language skills. Equally, employees in Russian MNCs with a lower level of corporate language skills will be less likely to consider internal and external career mobility than those employees with a higher level of these language skills. We prove that corporate language may act both as a barrier and as a facilitator for the career mobility of employees in Russian MNCs who have different levels of corporate language skills.},

This paper presents a revenue model integrated with queuing and price-demand theories to solve the design and pricing problem for public storage warehouses. We consider two demand cases in the model, which are exponential demand and piecewise linear demand. We also develop a solution based on dynamic programming techniques to solve the problem. Using data from a warehouse, we conduct numerical experiments. Results show that our approach can improve the expected revenue of public storage warehouses with high demand by 16.6% on average. We further conduct sensitivity analysis on price, and investigate the relation between revenue and price.},
