abstract = {L'importance relative des différents déterminants traditionnels de l'internationalisation demeure imparfaitement connue. Si pendant longtemps la taille de la firme est apparue comme le déterminant majeur, des analyses empiriques ont révélé que d'autres facteurs tels le milieu internationalisant et le dirigeant influencent significativement le développement international. Une approche centrée sur les principaux vecteurs de la compétitivité des firmes et s'appuyant directement sur les qualités intrinsèques des PME permet d'offrir un angle d'analyse différent.



L'objectif de cette étude est de démontrer que le processus d'internationalisation suit un développement non linéaire déterministe, conditionné par les caractéristiques idiosyncratiques de la PME. Nos recherches s'inscrivent dans la cadre de l'internationalisation des petites et moyennes entreprises. Nous chercherons à préciser les déterminants de cette internationalisation des PME françaises en observant leurs performances à l'export.



Les résultats montrent un impact positif entre une série de facteurs microéconomiques et sectoriels, et les exportations de 253 entreprises. Plus précisément, ils révèlent qu'une combinaison de facteurs comprenant l'organisation, l'innovation, les TIC, le dirigeant et la maîtrise de langues étrangères fait fortement varier les exportations dans tous les secteurs.},

L'appropriation par le marché de la stratégie de rupture dépend de la capacité de l'entreprise à convaincre les institutions de l'ampleur de la rupture. Or ces institutions, qui tirent leur compétence de la routine de contrôle des secteurs matures, ne disposent pas toujours des compétences à reconnaître et à mesurer l'apport et la réalité des innovations apportées par l'entreprise. abstract = {French law mandates that employees of publicly listed companies can elect two types of directors to represent employees. Privatized companies must reserve board seats for directors elected by employees by right of employment, while employee-shareholders can elect a director whenever they hold at least 3% of outstanding shares. Using a comprehensive sample of firms in the Société des Bourses Françaises (SBF) 120 Index from 1998 to 2008, we examine the impact of employee-directors on corporate valuation, payout policy, and internal board organization and performance. We find that directors elected by employee shareholders increase firm valuation and profitability, but do not significantly impact corporate payout policy. Directors elected by employees by right significantly reduce payout ratios, but do not impact firm value or profitability. Employee representation on corporate boards thus appears to be at least value-neutral, and perhaps value-enhancing in the case of directors elected by employee shareholders.},

B.56 (1) 3-48] to compare models with and without cross-brand pass-through, Dubé and Gupta [Dubé, J.-P., S. Gupta. 2008. Cross-brand pass-through in supermarket pricing. Marketing Sci.27 (3) 324-333] found that, in the refrigerated orange juice category, a model with cross-brand pass-through was selected 68% of the time. However, Lenk [Lenk, P. J. 2009. Simulation pseudo-bias correction to the harmonic mean estimator of integrated likelihoods. J. Comput. Graph. Statist.18(1) 941-960] has demonstrated that the infinite variance harmonic mean estimator often exhibits simulation pseudo-bias in favor of more complex models. We replicate the results of Dubé and Gupta in the refrigerated orange juice category and then show that any of three more stable finite variance estimators select the model with cross-brand pass-through less than 1% of the time. Relaxing the assumption that model errors are distributed normally eliminates all instances in which the cross-brand pass-through model is selected. In 10 additional categories, the harmonic-mean-estimated Bayes factor selects the model with cross-brand pass-through 69% of the time, whereas a finite variance estimator of the Bayes factor selects the model with cross-brand pass-through only 5% of the time. Applying arguments in McAlister [McAlister, L. 2007. Cross-brand pass-through: Fact or artifact? Marketing Sci.26 (6) 876--898], these 5% of cases can be attributed to capitalization on chance. We conclude that Dubé and Gupta should not be interpreted as providing evidence of cross-brand pass-through.},

abstract = {The constrained-layer damping treatment is widely used to control the resonant response of vibrating structures,

particularly in the automotive and aerospace industries. This technique requires design tools in order to select the

best location, type and thickness of the damping and constraining-layer materials for optimum damping while

minimizing the total weight of the damping treatments. In this study, a numerical tool is presented to analyze the

vibration response of plates partially or fully covered with a constrained viscoelastic damping material. This tool

is based on a finite element approach. The undamped plate structure is modeled using a discrete Kirchhoff theory

(DKT) element. However, a sandwich plate element is specially derived to model the damped plate structure.

This element is formulated in such a way that it is compatible with the DKT element. The natural frequencies

and modal loss factors are derived from the modal strain energy method. The proposed approach is validated

by comparing predictions with the results of various examples published in the literature. Hence, this approach

is shown to predict accurately the damping characteristics of arbitrarily shaped sandwich plates, with different

material properties and boundary conditions, fully or partially covered with constrained viscoelastic layers. The

influence of the damping patch locations and the viscoelastic material's shear modulus on the vibration and

damping characteristics is investigated. To damp the plate effectively using partial coverage, the damping patches

must be distributed appropriately. To select the best damping patch locations, an indicator based on the energy

dissipated through the viscoelastic layer is proposed.},

framework. We consider two kinds of situations: a moving spray in a motionless fluid, and motionless

particles in a Poiseuille flow. We observe that the spray retroaction may not be neglected in some

situations which can really happen, for instance, when one considers rather big particles, as it is possible

for polluting particles and even for some therapeutic aerosols. The retroaction is even responsible for

abstract = {La durabilité de l'avantage concurrentiel dépend de la capacité de l'entreprise à entretenir le caractère inimitable de ses compétences distinctives (Carpenter, Sanders, 2007). En d'autres termes, l'entreprise lutte constamment contre les facteurs d'homogénéisation sectoriels des compétences à l'origine de l'avantage concurrentiel. Le présent article recense les principaux facteurs explicatifs de l'homogénéisation des compétences et identifie les barrières à leur imitation. Une lecture dynamique du processus d'imitation au sein d'un secteur est proposée dans une première partie. L'analyse se base sur le concept du cycle de vie de la compétence. La deuxième partie insiste sur trois catégories de facteurs explicatifs de l'homogénéisation des compétences : la recherche de l'efficience, le développement d'un consensus cognitif entre concurrents et la maturité du secteur. Cette homogénéisation peut néanmoins être réduite via l'institution de barrières à l'imitation des compétences. Enfin, une analyse des tensions subies par le secteur en fonction du degré d'innovation implémentée par les acteurs est exposée en dernière partie.},

abstract = {his paper examines the effects of concentrated ownership structure and shareholder's type on the French stock-market liquidity. The results show that ownership concentration negatively affects market liquidity suggesting that large shareholders are likely to exacerbate information asymmetry, widen bid-ask spreads and decrease stock market liquidity. The findings also show that the proportion of institutional investors has a positive effect on market liquidity. These investors are inclined to trade more frequently on their stocks and to shrink bid-ask spreads. These findings are in line with adverse selection and trading hypotheses and shed the light on the role of corporate governance devices to consider shareholder minority interest's protection, which leads to improved stock market liquidity levels.},

The evolution of the surface morphology is followed after isothermal annealing (1173 K) for duration varying from 1 h to 53 h and isochronal annealing at temperatures between 1023 K < T < 1253 K. Statistical analysis of the AFM images gives evidence that an anisotropic Ostwald ripening governs the evolution of the 2D island distribution. The activation energy for mass transport on the terrace is found to be 1.3 ± 0.1 eV.},

loss (TL) through sandwich plates subjected to an acoustic plane wave or a diffuse sound field excitation. The sandwich plate considered is made up of a viscoelastic core sandwiched between two elastic faces. The model presented is based on a finite

element formulation for the sandwich plate coupled to a boundary element method for the acoustic medium. The plate formulation is derived from Kirchhoff's theory for the elastic faces and Mindlin's theory for the core. The strain and kinetic energies

of the sandwich plates are written in terms of the mean and relative in-plane displacements of the faces and the transverse deflection of the plate. The diffuse sound field is modeled as a superposition of uncorrelated plane waves with equal amplitude. The vibroacoustic equations obtained are discretized using a triangular

finite element. The accuracy of the present model is demonstrated by comparing it with analytical and experimental results available in the literature. New results on laminated glass showing the effects of temperature on the TL are presented.},

définit la RSE comme «l'intégration volontaire des préoccupations sociales, envi-

nisseurs et partenaires, collectivités locales, associations, etc.) et ce afin de satisfaire

abstract = {This study investigates the determinants of Chinese outward direct investment (ODI) and the extent to which three special explanations (capital market imperfections, special ownership advantages and institutional factors) need to be nested within the general theory of the multinational firm. We test our hypotheses using official Chinese ODI data collected between 1984 and 2001. We find Chinese ODI to be associated with high levels of political risk in, and cultural proximity to, host countries throughout, and with host market size and geographic proximity (1984-1991) and host natural resources endowments (1992-2001). We find strong support for the argument that aspects of the special theory help to explain the behaviour of Chinese multinational enterprises.},

abstract = {This study contributes to the existing literature by empirically investigating the effect of FDI inflows on the aggregate labour productivity of China's automotive industry. A production function model is developed using a panel data set at sub-sector level. Two statistical models: pooled ordinary least squares model (POLS) and fixed effects model (FES) were used to estimate the influence of foreign direct investment on aggregate labour productivity in the industry. Inward FDI plays a positive role in increasing industrial productivity, implying that the government should continue to encourage inward investment. However the results also suggest that efforts to increase capital intensity and average firm size in the industry will also improve labour productivity.},

abstract = {Cet article étudie les relations entre les mécanismes de gouvernement d'entreprise et la communication volontaire des résultats sur un marché où l'actionnariat est concentré. Les résultats montrent que la publication volontaire est liée à la dispersion de la structure d'actionnariat marquée par la présence d'investisseurs institutionnels étrangers, à l'existence d'une structure de dualité dans le conseil et à la distribution de stocks-options aux dirigeants. Les dirigeants français peuvent occasionnellement annoncer leurs résultats afin d'informer le marché de leurs bonnes performances. Enfin, les annonces trimestrielles sont rattachées essentiellement à la cotation sur le marché américain alors que la publication prévisionnelle est liée à la rémunération des dirigeants par stock-options.},

abstract = {Predicting the vibro-acoustic behaviour of a structure is usually done by using the well

established finite element (FE) method and boundary element method. This paper presents

a vibro-acoustic prediction case performed on a metal box using less accurate but simplified

methods: sub-structuring for the calculation of the dynamic response of the structure, and a

monopole distribution for the radiated noise calculation. Both are less accurate but faster

methods than previous ones. An experimental validation was performed. It led to the conclusion

that these methods give precise results and are sufficient for the pre-design of structures in

the low frequency domain. However, this conclusion must be moderated by the fact that in

spite of the simplicity of the structure, the FE model had to be adjusted to the experiments

to yield to a result close to the experiments.},

abstract = {The Black-Scholes model has gained wide recognition on financial markets. One of its shortcomings, however, is that it is inconsistent with most observed

option prices. Although the model can still be used very efficiently, it has been proposed to relax its assumptions, and, for instance, to consider that the volatility of

the underlying asset S is no longer a constant but rather a stochastic process. There

are two well-known approaches to achieve this goal. In the first class of models, the

volatility is assumed to depend on the variables t (time) and S, giving rise to the

so-called local volatility models. The second one, conceptually more ambitious,

considers that the volatility has a stochastic component of its own. In the latter,

the number of factors is increased by the amount of stochastic factors entering the

volatility modeling. Both models are of practical interest.},
