abstract = {This study attempts to add to the small body of existing literature relating Chief executive officer characteristics to earnings management. Our research was carried out on 153 French listed companies during 2008. Using discretionary accruals as a proxy for earnings management, we found a significant positive relationship between CEO characteristics and earnings management. This suggests that since reputed CEOs are well compensated, they are more afraid to lose thier compensation level, and their incentive to manipulate their firm's earnings therefore increases. Findings also indicate that the dual CEO-chair relationship encourages CEOs to manage earnings, particularly when CEO-chairs hold the major proportion of equity in the firm. This finding suggests that CEO-chairs use their managerial power and the freedom from control to extract private yields. Finally, we present new on the relationship between CEO expertise and earnings management, showing that expertise positively affects CEO's behavior leading to their using agressive earnings management.},

abstract = {In this study the perceived value construct of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) is investigated in the context of a learning management system (LMS), in which the construct is redefined from its original price value conceptualization. It was found that many researchers simply ignore the price value construct when applying the UTAUT2 model in technology use studies in the educational context. This study extends the UTAUT2 framework by integrating the learning value construct and provides fresh insight about predictors of students' intentions towards LMS and its use. A quantitative research approach was employed by utilizing a closed-ended questionnaire to collect data from Malaysian university students who were users of LMS. Probability proportional stratified sampling was employed to select an appropriate sample. The results indicated a good measurement and structural model fit and suggested the significant influence of performance expectancy, social influence and learning value on students' intention towards LMS and also confirmed the influence of facilitating conditions and behavioral intention on LMS use. The extended UTAUT2 framework helps in understanding students' perceived value in the LMS context. Furthermore, this study will help institutions to consider the factors for successful implementation of an LMS in an academic setting.},

Theoretical underpinning of motivation theory, self-determination theory (SDT), and cognitive evaluation theory (CET) is used to design the framework. The quantitative empirical research to test the hypothesized relationships was conducted on 276 online students in Pakistan who use Moodle for online learning. By analysing the responses using AMOS, the findings reveal that both the intrinsic motivators (communication module features, course content module features and course delivery module features) and extrinsic motivator (assignment module feature) significantly influence the students' perceived learning effectiveness, which results in improve academic performance.},

However, over the past few years, digital natives represent a main reason for these firms to start adopting online strategies. Specifically, reputation and image are inherent to the luxury industry, and with social media, they are considered the determinants of e-reputation. Using an online survey design, the authors find that the influence of reputation, image and social media on e-reputation differs based on the status of the luxury brand (traditional compared with modern) and that digital natives moderate these links},

abstract = {Currently high competitive environment of emerging markets is characterized by a new typology of firm. Such new kind of firm has been defined second mover or ?imovator'. An imovator combines aspects of both imitation and innovation strategies (Shenkar 2010). It exploits the external resources and capabilities of its own network system in order to improve business performance and increase technological capabilities. It takes inspiration from successful innovative products in order to create a similar product but with technical improvements and lower production costs. In the current management literature there are different points of view regards to the competitive advantage to be innovator or imitator: some scholars argue that being innovator is advantageous to companies in order to dominate new market and to acquire a wide range of consumers whereas others point out that it is more efficient and successful to follow the first comer. However none has been studied how the combination between innovation and imitation may affect firms' performance through adpting knowledge exploitation approach and creating relationship with firms' Innovation Network System. So in order to address this gap, the paper analyses two case studies, that is Lenovo from China and redBus.in from India.},

abstract = {As is the case in the field of medicine, as well as in most areas of daily life, digital technology is increasingly being introduced into dental practice. Computer-aided design/ computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) solutions are available not only for chairside practice but also for creating inlays, crowns, fixed partial dentures (FPDs), implant abutments, and other dental prostheses. CAD/CAM dental practice can be considered as the handling of devices and software processing for the almost automatic design and creation of dental restorations. However, dentists who want to use dental CAD/CAM systems often do not have enough information to understand the variations offered by such technology practice. Knowledge of the random and systematic errors in accuracy with CAD/CAM systems can help to achieve successful restorations with this technology, and help with the purchasing of a CAD/CAM system that meets the clinical needs of restoration. This article provides a mechanical engineering viewpoint of the accuracy of CAD/ CAM systems, to help dentists understand the impact of this technology on restoration accuracy.},

abstract = {Many important classes of decision models give rise to the problem of finding a global maximum of a convex function over a convex set. This problem is known also as concave minimization, concave programming or convex maximization. Such problems can have many local maxima, therefore finding the global maximum is a computationally difficult problem, since standard nonlinear programming procedures fail. In this article, we provide a very simple and practical approach to find the global solution of quadratic convex maximization problems over a polytope. A convex function achieves its global maximum at extreme points of the feasible domain. Since an inscribed ball does not contain any extreme points of the domain, we use the largest inscribed ball for an inner approximation while a minimal enclosing box is exploited for an outer approximation of the domain. The approach is based on the use of these approximations along with the standard local search algorithm and cutting plane techniques.},

We examine geographical and organized proximities as determinants of organizational legitimacy and ?price premium? strategy. Based on secondary data from the Hachette Wine guide, a study was conducted in the French wine industry. Wine does not only include characteristics related to the territory; it also reflects men's decisions within a territory. The `terroir' concept hence encompasses soil, climate, and geology, topography, and cultural-related dimensions. Results show that geographical (two regions, Bordeaux and Languedoc-Roussillon) and organized (nine French Appellations) proximities have opposite effects on legitimacy and price. We disaggregate the features of mature entrepreneurial RIS into three dimensions of social capital: structural, relational, and cognitive. We apply these features of mature entrepreneurial RIS to the still-evolving entrepreneurial RIS from East Asia including Daedeok Innopolis of Korea and Hsinchu Science Park of Taiwan. The spawning effect of representative companies within focal industries, collaboration among the key organizational actors, and attraction and retention of talent are taken into account. The study uncovers a new aspect of still-evolving entrepreneurial RIS, which complements the existing typology categorizing RIS into institutional RIS and entrepreneurial RIS. Whereas the conventional literature has viewed the East Asian RIS as institutional RIS, the findings of this study allow scholars to view the East Asian RIS as entrepreneurial in their own distinctive manner. Meanwhile, we also find an important implication for making a shift from a top-down to a bottom-up approach in order for the still-evolving entrepreneurial RIS to vitalize cognitive social capital. Thus, we suggest the transitions from outward-looking social capital to inward-looking social capital.},

Since its inception, a number of significant FIM algorithms have been developed to speed up mining performances. Unfortunately, for huge dataset, scalability remains an important issue. In this work, we propose a new propositional satisfiability (SAT) parallel approach, called PSATCFIM, to deal with closed frequent itemsets mining problem. It is designed to run on multicore machines and uses a divide and conquer approach to partition the enumeration process. Such partitioning based on guiding paths eliminates computational overlap between cores. Through empirical study, we demonstrate that PSATCFIM can achieve significant performance improvements with respect to the sequential based version.},

By analysing cumulative abnormal returns of the acquirer EMFs from Brazil, Russia, China, India, and Mexico, the value-creating nature of technology-acquiring cross-border M&As has been confirmed. In addition, the number of the patents owned by the target firms showed a positive and significant effect on the stock performance of cross-border acquirers. Finally, the bilateral trade openness significantly and positively moderated the relation between the innovation capability of the target firms and EMFs' stock performance.},

abstract = {This study attempts to add to the small body of existing literature relating Chief executive officer characteristics to earnings management. Finally, we present new on the relationship between CEO expertise and earnings management, showing that expertise positively affects CEO's behavior leading to their using agressive earnings management},

In our work, foreign companies are foreign-owned companies (multinational or global) that operate in the Russian market and their headquarters are located outside the Russian Federation. Attention is paid to the analysis of the factors that support talent management implementation. As the results of the research are based on a comparative analysis of differences and peculiarities in talent practices in Russian and foreign companies, the paper explores and provides a number of ideas and conclusions about talent management elaboration, realization and talent practices improvement in the Russian context. Our data show that talent management practices are influenced by a number of factors that are different, in parts, in Russian and foreign companies. Supplementary analysis also suggests that the positive connection between talent management efforts and a company's performance can be found.},

These products are characterized by payoffs depending on both stock and its volatility. We provide closed-form solution for different products and two multivariate Wishart-based stochastic volatility models. The methodology turns out to be independent of the dimension of the problem. Overall, our results highlight the great flexibility and tractability of Wishart-based stochastic volatility models to develop multivariate extensions of the Heston model.},

abstract = {Firms currently face numerous challenges when they operate abroad. To overcome these challenges many researchers define a set of vital factors that influence companies' successful operations in international markets. Among others, an important factor is the competencies of the top management team (TMT), which significantly influence an organisation's results. Currently, there is a lack of studies either observing the role of TMTs' competencies when a company decides to operate internationally or proving that a top manager's competencies are related to a firm's performance. To fill that gap, this paper explores how a TMT's competencies are associated with the realisation of a firm's international operations. The findings indicate that there is a strong correlation between top management competencies and the successful realisation of a firm's operations in international markets. Moreover, the evidence suggests that the most significant competencies for this are superior cognitive and analytical capabilities, ability to create and to use foreign contacts, project aptitude, and ability to create multicultural interaction. The research is based on the evidence of Russian companies operating in foreign markets.},

In this paper, we present a numerical method to approximate the optimal strategy of a trader willing to unwind a large portfolio. The method we propose is very general as it can be applied to multi-asset portfolios with any form of execution costs, including a bid-ask spread component, even when participation constraints are imposed. Our method, based on convex duality, only requires Hamiltonian functions to have C1,1 regularity while classical methods require additional regularity and cannot be applied to all cases found in practice.},

As a consequence, the issue has captured the worldwide attention of policymakers. Several countries are currently adopting or considering the adoption of laws or regulations to promote gender diversity on corporate boards. The purpose of this paper is to compare the effectiveness of using legislative or regulatory means to increase female representation instead of allowing firms to voluntarily fix their own non?legally binding targets. We find that the relation between gender diversity and performance is positive in countries using the voluntary approach while it is negative in countries using the regulatory approach. We conclude that public policy aimed at increasing the number of women on corporate boards should be introduced gradually and voluntarily rather than quickly and coercively to avoid sub?optimal board composition.},

abstract = {Statement of problem. Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) machining influences the surface roughness of dental restorations and tool wear. Roughness must be suitable to meet clinical requirements, and the tool must last as long as possible. Purpose. The purpose of this pilot study was to investigate the influence of the CAD/CAM toolmaterial couple on tool wear and surface roughness after milling. Material and methods. Three tools (Lyra conical tool Ø1 mm; GACD SASU, Lyra conical tool Ø1.05 mm; GACD SASU, and Cerec cylinder pointed tool 12S; Sirona Dental Systems GmbH) and 3 CAD/CAM materials (Lava Ultimate; 3M ESPE, Mark II; VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH, and Enamic; VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH) were tested. The tool wear of 6 tool-material couples at a feed rate of 2 m/min was analyzed before and after 8 minutes of flank and climb milling with optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations and tool weighing. The surface roughness after milling was observed for 9 tool-material couples for flank and climb milling. Feed rates of 1, 2, 3, and 4.8 m/min were used for each couple. Ra, Rt, Rz, Sa, Sq, and Sz roughness criteria were measured. A paired comparison of tool-material couples was conducted with the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results. The Mark II material led to more severe tool wear. Milling of Lava Ultimate resulted in chip deposits on the tool grit. The Cerec cylinder pointed tool 12S was less worn for each material tested. The Cerec cylinder pointed tool 12S and the Lyra conical tool Ø1.05 mm provided similar roughness measurements for the 3 materials tested. The Lyra conical tool Ø1.05 mm tool provided better roughness than the Lyra conical tool Ø1 mm tool for the Enamic material. Conclusion. Tool lifetime calculated by volume of milled material removed should be the measure
provided by CAD/CAM manufacturers instead of a number of blocks. This tool lifetime should be
provided for the milling conditions associated with the material milled. Material hardness and tool grit are key factors for achieving a given roughness.},

abstract = {Objective: To include CAD/CAM technologies in oral rehabilitation teaching. Three difficulties arise when bringing and applying the theoretical knowledge in clinical training: To offer a standard teaching to all students, In 4 dental units located in different hospitals, Under a high level supervision. Materials and method: A dedicated room is equipped with three different
CAD/CAM systems and a 3D printer, as well as characterization and polishing kits (ceramic, composite and furnace). In clinic, with his teacher, the student indicates the partial restoration and performs preparation
and impression (conventional or optical). Design and manufacturing are realized at the faculty under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team, including biomaterials, prosthodontics and conservative dentistry teachers, prosthodontics technicians, engineering specialists and researchers. Results: In this privileged dialogue about a patient, the student discovers the unit scientific interest, as all clinical relevant information about patients, clinical situation and restoration features is recorded for a long-term cohort study. Teachers note a better comprehension of preparation needs and tissue preservation while the student manages the whole process of partial denture restoration. His understanding widens when confronted to clinical situation, cast model and 3D reconstruction. Discussion and conclusion: CAD/CAMis a key teaching in 21st century dental curriculum. These new technologies confront us to a new educational challenge. Because of the limited background available, a multidisciplinar team is necessary to explore the opportunities they open as well as their limitations. From this point of view, collaboration with researchers is essential.},
