It is well known that \, for fast rotating fluids with the axis of rotation being perpendicular t o the boundary\, the boundary layer is of Ekman-type\, described by a linea r ODE system. In this talk\, we consider fast rotating fluids\, with the ax is of rotation being parallel to the boundary. We show that\, for certain i nitial data\, the corresponding boundary layer is describe by a nonlinear\, degenerated PDE system which is similar to the 2D Prandtl system. Finally\ , we prove the well-posedness of the governing system of the boundary layer in the space of analytic functions with respect to tangential variable.

Bart Van Looy is pro
fessor at KU Leuven (Innovation and Organization) at the department of Mana
gerial Economics\, Strategy and Innovation (MSI)\, Faculty of Business and
Economics and has a (part-time) research affiliation at the University of T
wente (Institute of Governance Studies\, OOHR). In addition\, he teaches at
the MBA program of Flanders Business School (Antwerp) where he also acts a
s scientific coordinator. Bart Van Looy is co-promotor of ECOOM (responsibl
e for the service and research activities pertaining to Technometrics/Paten
t Analysis) and responsible for the research activities of INCENTIM (Resear
ch division K.U. Leuven R&D) which conducts applied and basic research in t
he field of innovation\, technology and knowledge intensive entrepreneurshi

Abstract: Since the introduct ion of the ‘creative class’\, artists (bohemians) have been portrayed as co ntributing to innovation dynamics of cities and regions. Whereas qualitativ e evidence suggests the presence of spillover effects from the arts to the knowledge economy\, quantitative analyses offer little or no support for a positive contribution of ‘bohemians’ to the (overall) innovative performanc e of regions. In this paper\, we assess whether and to what extent artists contribute to innovative regional performance by making an explicit distinc tion between technological and aesthetic innovation. Relying on a panel dat aset (2003 – 2011) of 190 European regions (NUTS 2) our findings reveal dis tinctive contributions of artists and scientists (and engineers) albeit in different activity realms. While scientists and engineers contribute to reg ional technological performance (measured by means of utility patents)\, ar tists have a significant impact on innovations of a more symbolic/aesthetic nature (measured by means of design patent).

Thomas Roulet (PhD HEC Paris) is Senior Lecturer at the School of Management & Business a t King’s College\, London. He also holds an appointment as Research Fellow of the Professional Service Firms Group at the University of Oxford\, and i s an affiliated faculty at HEC Paris (Society and Organization Research Cen ter).
His research interests mainly lies at the intersection of econo mic sociology\, organization theory and ethics. He looks at negative social evaluations (stigma\, disapproval) and their antecedents (misconduct\, nor m violation) in the context of professional service firms (investment banks \, audit firms) and cultural industries (theaters\, museums). He serves as Editor-in-Chief of M@n@gement (CNRS 2).

Kristine d e Valck (PhD RSM Erasmus University) is Associate Professor of Marketing at HEC Paris. Currently\, she acts as the Marketing Department Chair.
O ver the past 15 years\, her research and teaching focus on how the Internet in general and social media in particular have changed consumer behaviour and the marketplace. Some of her latest research interests include measurin g the ROI of social media marketing\, understanding changing television ser ies consumption patterns due to the rise of digital technologies\, as well as managing member conflicts in online communities of consumption.
When does electronic word of mouth truly matter? An eye -tracking study. Authors: Francesca SOTGIU (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)\, Kristine DE VALCK (HEC Paris). Abstract: In today’s connected world\, elec tronic word of mouth (eWOM) acts as an influential element in consumers’ de cision making process. Consumers have embraced review and rating sites\, co mparison sites\, search engines\, and social media to get informed about th e products they consider buying. As a result\, many marketers are actively engaging in word of mouth marketing\, i.e.\, the management of consumer-gen erated content about goods\, services\, brands and companies. At the same t ime\, a large body of academic research has focused on understanding what d rives and moderates the effect of eWOM on sales. This paper moves from a ma cro-level investigation of eWOM effectiveness in the marketplace to a micro -level investigation of how consumers actually attend to and use the differ ent manifestations of eWOM on review and rating sites to inform their purch ase intentions. In particular\, we investigate the relative importance of e lements such as review volume\, valence\, variance and textual review conte nt by means of two eye-tracking experiments\, 11 interviews\, and 22 think- aloud protocol observations. Our multi-method approach allows us to identif y patterns among different sources of information used by consumers when co mparing alternative product offerings.

A forerunner in this field\, it was the first higher educat ion establishment to roll out the Fresque du Climat workshop on a large sca le\, in conjunction with the national launch of the initiative. This collec tive\, interdisciplinary and pedagogical approach is part of a process of h ybridisation of skills and development of soft skills\, at the heart of the schools' educational project.
In 2025\, the Fresque remains a key pa rt of the back-to-school calendar\, now integrated into a wider range of in itiatives on ecological and societal transition. Supervised by trained faci litators\, the workshop brings together the new classes in teams to work on the links between human activities\, greenhouse gas emissions\, global imp acts and levers for action. This introductory session opens up a cycle of m ulti-disciplinary themed projects throughout the year\, including hackathon s\, weeks dedicated to biodiversity and modules on energy efficiency.

De Vinci Higher Education is organising its traditional Student Association Forum at the start of the 2025 academic year. The event will ta ke place over two days: Thursday 18 September in Paris-La Défense\, then Fr iday 19 September on the Nantes campus.
This back-to-school event gives students the chance to find out about the associations active o n both campuses. Sport\, culture\, digital\, entrepreneurship\, solidarity or sustainable development: each organisation presents its projects and opp ortunities for involvement. The event also provides an opportunity to talk to members of the associations\, to find out more about the activities on o ffer and how they are organised.
The association experience is an int egral part of the educational process for pupils in De Vinci's three school s. It develops autonomy\, organisational skills and teamwork. The Forum is therefore the starting point for the associative year\, enabling each stude nt to identify projects that correspond to his or her interests.
Gath ered under the Devinci banner\, the associations of De Vinci Higher Educati on (EMLV Bu siness School\, ESILV Engineering School\, and IIM Digital School ) are fully involved i n student training.
Through the various associations\, ea ch student can find a sporting\, cultural or humanitarian activity that all ows them to express their talents\, organisational\, management and adminis trative skills\, and to gain real human and professional experience.
