We use Russian context to show barriers and challenges of using language in official communication between governmental authorities and Russian companies. In our work, we demonstrate how language may produce employee's misunderstanding and discuss typical sources of ineffective usage of language. The results indicate that problematic issues of both linguistic and non-linguistic nature can lead to serious implications for successful communication between government and business in Russia. We found that documentations' complexity, which is perceived as such due to a complicated subject area they belong to (legal, tax, etc.) and language insufficiency applied are most likely to raise multiple problems related to government's communication with business.},

abstract = {Purpose
Foreign divestment (FD) has often different roles such as being a corporate diversification strategy, and of such divestment may have effects on a company's image and reputation. Ongoing businesses trends including internationalization, deregulation and diversification have forced executives to exploit image and reputation as strategic corporate resources, which make them the target of a firm's active management. The paper aims at developing the understanding of the framing techniques of discursive legitimation and of the strategies used by companies when signalizing their FD decision.
Design/methodology/approach
To examine the framing strategies used by companies to legitimize their FD decisions, the authors used the case study methodology using a critical discursive analysis. Using companies' press releases regarding FD of Western multinational companies (MNCs), the authors examined for the specific frame used in each release. After identification through initial coding, the dominant frames were recognized by recording patterns in technique, content, themes, patterns of keywords, quotes and semantic method.
Findings
This study demonstrated that legitimation is an integral part of framing press release. Companies framing of their FD decisions can be interpreted as an attempt to not only prevent negative repercussion from stakeholders but also to legitimize the FD decisions to protect the company's image and reputation.
Originality/value
By examining the elements of FD press releases, the authors uncovered the microelements of the framing techniques used by MNCs to legitimize their decision.},

abstract = {Piping inspection robots are of great importance in industries such as nuclear, sewage and chemical where the internal diameters of the pipeline are significantly smaller. Mechanisms having closed loops can be used in such areas as they generate contact forces and deployable structures. With the help of a bio-inspired mechanism, a piping inspection robot is presented which mimics the motion of a caterpillar. The robot is composed of three modules: a central module for elongation and two other modules on the front and rear for clamping. A slot-slider mechanism is chosen for the legs of the robot. Using industrial components such as DC motors, servo-controllers, ball screws and fasteners, the entire robotic system was realized in CATIA software and a prototype was made at the Laboratoire des Sciences du Numérique de Nantes (LS2N). In this article, we present the forces induced on the motors under locomotion using a dynamic analysis. With the help of the recursive Newton-Euler algorithm, the torques generated on the motor under locomotion have been identified which ensures the stability of the system while moving inside pipes},

However, the much improved rotational projection scheme cannot be used on models with non-homogeneous viscosity, imposing the use of the less accurate incremental projection. This paper presents a projection method for the Navier-Stokes equations for fluids having variable viscosity, giving a consistent pressure and increased accuracy in pressure when compared to the incremental projection. The accuracy of the method will be illustrated using a manufactured solution.},

abstract = {The piping inspection for security or sealing checking is an important challenge when the internal diameter of the pipe is small with respect to its length. Some mechanisms using closed loops are able to generate contact forces and deployable structures. By using bio-inspired design, we present a mechanism which is able to move inside pipes by mimicking the motion of a caterpillar. The mechanism is composed of three sections, one for the motion and two with legs that are attached with the inner part of the pipe. A compliant mechanism is proposed to add mobility between the three sections of the robot in order to cross the singularity of the pipe. The results coming from a multi-objective optimization process is used to set the geometric and kinematic parameters of the mechanism taking into account the environmental and design constraints. A mechatronic system is proposed that uses industrial components namely DC motors, ball-screws and servo controllers which can be inserted in the pipe. For horizontal and vertical motions, the contact forces and the motor torques are computed to check the feasibility of the clamping. A prototype made at Laboratoire des Sciences du Numérique de Nantes (LS2N) is used to show the behavior of this concept for slow motions.},

A detailed convergence analysis of this chemotaxis-fluid model by means of a suitable combination of the finite volume method and the nonconforming finite element method is investigated. In the case of nonpositive transmissibilities, a correction of the diffusive fluxes is necessary to maintain the monotonicity of the numerical scheme. Finally, many numerical tests are given to illustrate the behavior of the anisotropic Keller-Segel-Stokes system.},

abstract = {The modeling of mechatronic systems requires the collaboration of several professions such as systems architect, safety expert, mechanical engineer and electronic engineer. Thus, various complex system models using different modeling languages are provided. This paper presents a verification and validation approach that aims to assure the structural consistency between such models. First, the system representations using SysML, AltaRica and Modelica languages for systems engineering, safety analysis and multi-physics respectively, are transformed into labeled and directed multi-graphs. Then, these graphs will be compared for equivalence by using different graph concepts such as isomorphism, subgraph, number of system inputs and outputs, etc. This method allows to synchronize models into one single representation respecting all specifications inherent to each modeling language. Furthermore, inconsistencies are identified when passing from one model to another and feedbacks will be given to each domain expert for validation. A case study from an aeronautical system is used throughout the paper to illustrate our approach.},

abstract = {Internet of Vehicles (IoV) represents the evolution of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks into Internet of Things paradigm using cloud computing as support. In IoV, Vehicle-to-Vehicle is the principal communication mode where the vehicles are either data transmitter, relay or receiver. This type of communication is subject to disturbances which deteriorate connectivity and hence the quality of service as it prevents access to cloud services on board vehicle. In this paper, we propose a robust routing protocol for the transmission of data packets satisfying the evolution of the topology and the mobility of the network by adopting a hybrid Software-Defined Networking architecture. This is done by disassociating the control plane that makes decisions about where data is sent from the data plane that forwards data to the selected destination. The control decisions are based on different criteria, namely the contact duration, the free load and the communication errors, which are carried out by each vehicle, in a decentralized mode. However, the error logs are handled within clusters, by an elected cluster head node, in a locally centralized mode. An implementation of this proposed hybrid protocol on a multi-agent platform with a comparative study is presented in this paper.},

We first find that the presence of female directors deters managers from managing earnings. However, this finding does not hold when the statutory and demographic attributes of female directors are taken into account, thus showing that the detection and the correction of earnings management require particular competencies and skills. Interestingly, we find that business expertise and audit committee membership are key attributes of female directors that promote the effective monitoring of earnings management. An important implication of our findings is that the decision to appoint women on corporate boards should be based more on their statutory and demographic attributes than on blind implementation of gender quotas. Finally, our supplementary analysis reveals that female CEOs and CFOs are strongly inclined to reduce earnings management.},

In this article, after examining the nature of the existing governance and implementation gaps in labour standards in global supply chains, we explore how Viet Labor, an emerging grass-roots organization, has developed practices to help close them. This involves playing brokering roles between different workers and between workers and existing governance mechanisms. We identify an initial typology of six such roles: educating, organizing, supporting, collective action, whistle-blowing and documenting. This marks a significant shift in the way action to improve labour standards along the supply chain is analysed. Our case explores how predominantly top-down approaches can be supplemented by bottom-up ones centred on workers' agency.},

abstract = {The main objective of this paper is the integration of safety analysis in a SysML-based systems engineering approach in order to make it more effective and efficient. It helps to ensure the consistency between safety analyses and system design and then to avoid late errors and to reduce system development time. To achieve this purpose, we tackled the following axes: 1) formalizing a SysML-based design methodology that will be the support for safety analyses; 2) providing an extension of SysML to enable the integration of specific needs for safety concepts in the system model; and 3) performing an automated exploration of the SysML models to generate necessary information to elaborate safety artifacts such as failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and fault tree analysis (FTA). The proposed methodology named safety integration in systems engineering (SafeSysE) is applied to a real case study from the aeronautics domain: electromechanical actuator (EMA).},

abstract = {Purpose
With a foundation in conservation of resources theory, the purpose of this paper is to unpack the relationship between employees' self-efficacy and job performance, investigating the mediating role of job-related anxiety and the moderating role of perceived workplace incivility.
Design/methodology/approach
Survey data were collected from employees and their supervisors in Pakistani organizations.
Findings
An important reason that employees' self-efficacy enhances their job performance is that they experience less anxiety while undertaking their daily job tasks. This mediating role of job-related anxiety is particularly salient to the extent that employees believe that they are the victims of uncivil behaviors.
Practical implications
Organizations should note that the anxiety-mitigating effect of self-efficacy is particularly strong for generating adequate performance to the extent that rude and discourteous behaviors cannot be completely avoided in the workplace.
Originality/value
This study establishes a more complete understanding of the benefits of employees' self-efficacy by revealing how reduced worries about their organizational functioning represent critical mechanisms that connect this personal resource to higher job performance, as well as by showing how employees' perceptions of workplace incivility invigorate this process.},

This study explores the peculiarities of TM practices in Russian companies and empirically proves a positive relationship between TM practices and CA in the emerging-market context. The article identifies a number of specific TM practices that influence CA. We argue that succession planning and career development have the greatest impact on CA in Russian firms.},
