CAD/CAM dental practice can be considered as the handling of devices and software processing for the almost automatic design and creation of dental restorations. However, dentists who want to use dental CAD/CAM systems often do not have enough information to understand the variations offered by such technology practice. Knowledge of the random and systematic errors in accuracy with CAD/CAM systems can help to achieve successful restorations with this technology, and help with the purchasing of a CAD/CAM system that meets the clinical needs of restoration. This article provides a mechanical engineering viewpoint of the accuracy of CAD/ CAM systems, to help dentists understand the impact of this technology on restoration accuracy.},

abstract = {Statement of problem. Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) machining influences the surface roughness of dental restorations and tool wear. Roughness must be suitable to meet clinical requirements, and the tool must last as long as possible. Purpose. The purpose of this pilot study was to investigate the influence of the CAD/CAM toolmaterial couple on tool wear and surface roughness after milling. Material and methods. Three tools (Lyra conical tool Ø1 mm; GACD SASU, Lyra conical tool Ø1.05 mm; GACD SASU, and Cerec cylinder pointed tool 12S; Sirona Dental Systems GmbH) and 3 CAD/CAM materials (Lava Ultimate; 3M ESPE, Mark II; VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH, and Enamic; VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH) were tested. The tool wear of 6 tool-material couples at a feed rate of 2 m/min was analyzed before and after 8 minutes of flank and climb milling with optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations and tool weighing. The surface roughness after milling was observed for 9 tool-material couples for flank and climb milling. Feed rates of 1, 2, 3, and 4.8 m/min were used for each couple. Ra, Rt, Rz, Sa, Sq, and Sz roughness criteria were measured. A paired comparison of tool-material couples was conducted with the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results. The Mark II material led to more severe tool wear. Milling of Lava Ultimate resulted in chip deposits on the tool grit. The Cerec cylinder pointed tool 12S was less worn for each material tested. The Cerec cylinder pointed tool 12S and the Lyra conical tool Ø1.05 mm provided similar roughness measurements for the 3 materials tested. The Lyra conical tool Ø1.05 mm tool provided better roughness than the Lyra conical tool Ø1 mm tool for the Enamic material. Conclusion. Tool lifetime calculated by volume of milled material removed should be the measure
provided by CAD/CAM manufacturers instead of a number of blocks. This tool lifetime should be
provided for the milling conditions associated with the material milled. Material hardness and tool grit are key factors for achieving a given roughness.},

abstract = {Laser shock processing is a recently developed surface treatment designed to improve the mechanical
properties and fatigue performance of materials, by inducing a deep compressive residual stress field.
The purpose of this work is to investigate the residual stress distribution induced by laser shock process-
ing in a 2050-T8 aeronautical aluminium alloy with both X-ray diffraction measurements and 3D finite
element simulation. The method of X-ray diffraction is extensively used to characterize the crystallo-
graphic texture and the residual stress crystalline materials at different scales (macroscopic, mesoscopic
and microscopic).
Shock loading and materials' dynamic response are experimentally analysed using Doppler velocimetry
in order to use adequate data for the simulation. Then systematic experience versus simulation compar-
isons are addressed, considering first a single impact loading, and in a second step the laser shock
processing treatment of an extended area, with a specific focus on impact overlap. Experimental and
numerical results indicate a residual stress anisotropy, and a better surface stress homogeneity with
an increase of impact overlap.
A correct agreement is globally shown between experimental and simulated residual stress values,
even if simulations provide us with local stress values whereas X-ray diffraction determinations give
averaged residual stresses.},

abstract = {Although corporate alumni networks are a developing practice, academia has said very little about them and their members. In this article, our goal is to provide an account of how members of such networks construct themselves as alumni. To that end, we adopt a narrative approach to identity construction and empirically explore the identity work that the members of one corporate alumni network carry out in order to sustain their identification with a past organizational setting. Our case study leads us to document four ?identity stratagems' (Jenkins, 1996) through which members incorporate elements of their past professional experience into their self-narratives: nostalgia, reproduction, validation and combination. It thus allows for a better understanding of corporate alumni networks and their members, while also contributing to the broader identity literature by further documenting how organizational participants can incorporate elements of a past professional experience into their self-narratives.},

Three difficulties arise when bringing and applying the theoretical knowledge in clinical training: To offer a standard teaching to all students, In 4 dental units located in different hospitals, Under a high level supervision. Materials and method: A dedicated room is equipped with three different
CAD/CAM systems and a 3D printer, as well as characterization and polishing kits (ceramic, composite and furnace). In clinic, with his teacher, the student indicates the partial restoration and performs preparation
and impression (conventional or optical). Design and manufacturing are realized at the faculty under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team, including biomaterials, prosthodontics and conservative dentistry teachers, prosthodontics technicians, engineering specialists and researchers. Results: In this privileged dialogue about a patient, the student discovers the unit scientific interest, as all clinical relevant information about patients, clinical situation and restoration features is recorded for a long-term cohort study. Teachers note a better comprehension of preparation needs and tissue preservation while the student manages the whole process of partial denture restoration. His understanding widens when confronted to clinical situation, cast model and 3D reconstruction. Discussion and conclusion: CAD/CAMis a key teaching in 21st century dental curriculum. These new technologies confront us to a new educational challenge. Because of the limited background available, a multidisciplinar team is necessary to explore the opportunities they open as well as their limitations. From this point of view, collaboration with researchers is essential.},

abstract = {The success of related diversification is not a given. Although synergies between a firm's businesses may exist, problems can arise in the sharing of key resources and capabilities as the firm attempts to exploit the synergies. To achieve success in related diversification, firms often leverage their organizational slack, or resources and capabilities that are in excess of the level demanded by their normal operations. However, sharing is difficult when firms have insufficient organizational slack, and this can lead to an overstretching of shared resources. Through case study methodology, this paper investigates how one technological SME managed its limited organizational slack while engaged in related diversification. Particular attention is given to the mechanisms that contribute to diversification failure. Consideration is also given to how the capability life-cycle may affect capability sharing in related diversification efforts.},

The results suggest that home country economic wealth and demographics, historic/linguistic link and UK government preferential policies are the important antecedents for international students from worldwide flows into the UK. However, a comparative analysis shows that a wide variety of economic, social and political factors are all important to the UK international students originally from developing economies, while home country economic wealth and population, and bilateral trade are more important than other factors in determining the students from developed countries studying in the UK. The UK government should formulate effective and flexible policies and UK HEIs should develop specific marketing strategies to attract a growing number of international students in general and from key target countries and regions in particular.},

made of heterogeneous, random elastoplastic composites. The effective constitutive law is
provided by an incremental homogenization method (see e.g. [1]), which allows computing
very efficiently the stress-strain relationship at the integration points of the structure with-
out local calculations on the RVE. The accuracy of the method is enhanced by identifying
the coefficients of an empirical model related to the matrix, which provides a correction to
the initial incremental homogenization scheme solution. For this purpose, the size of the
RVE is determined for local microstructures consisting into random distribution of elastic
cylinders or pores in a von Mises elastoplastic matrix with nonlinear hardening. Unlike
previous approaches (see e.g. [2, 3]), we determine the size of the RVE by performing
a statistical convergence analysis not on the response of the microstructure, but on the
parameters of the empirical model used for the identification. Numerical results are pro-
vided to demonstrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the technique through structure
examples.},

abstract = {In the present work, a computational method is proposed to compute the response of
highly heterogeneous structures through a simplied (homogenized) model when no scale
separation can be assumed. Based on a recent theory developed by the authors [1, 2],
a nonlocal constitutive law is rst constructed based on numerical computations on a
unit cell. The homogenization framework is based on the use of linear lters instead of
classical averaging operators and generalizes the classical homogenization theory, leading
naturally to a nonlocal constitutive law. A numerical procedure is developed to compute
the response of structures made of periodic cells by using a coarse mesh, associated to
a wavelength related to a chosen scale of description. Compared to our previous work, a displacement-based strategy is proposed to implement the constructed nonlocal
law in a classical Finite Elements procedure related to the coarse mesh. Unlike other
nonlocal elasticity theories, the present method is fully micro-mechanically-funded and
re-localization can be achieved to analyze local (strain and stress) elds without solving
the fully detailed problem. The methodology is demonstrated by analyzing the response
of structures with heterogeneities which have characteristic dimensions comparable to
those of the structure itself.},

roughness and tool geometrical properties. The influence of two tool-material couple parameters is also studied: the feedrate and the milling mode (flank, top). Three diamond burs and three dental biomaterials (ceramic, polymer, hybrid) were tested. The surface roughness was observed for nine tool-material couples in flank and top milling. Ra, Rt, Rz, Sa, Sq, Sz roughness criteria were
measured. It has been concluded that in flank milling the
measured surface roughness is in direct proportion to the diamond tool grain size. In top milling, the roughness is mainly due to the diamond grain size, and the radial depth is not a predominant parameter. The surface roughness was influenced by material hardness in flank milling mode. Moreover, the surface roughness was not affected by the feedrate.},

Employing a panel dataset at the aggregate country-level, the study is conducted using the generalised least squares (GLS) model.
The findings suggest that Indian FDI patterns vary over time in line with Indian economic and structural transformations. The patterns also differ between the home country groups in line with their economic development and geographic location relative to India. The desirable patterns of Indian inward FDI are determined not only the development levels of both host and home countries but also the host country's factor endowment pattern.
It is important for the Indian government to formulate selective targeting FDI policies to maximise economic impact of inward FDI by attracting more desirable efficiency-seeking FDI for higher economic growth.},

a finite element formulation for the sandwich plate coupled to a boundary element
method for the acoustic medium. This tool can be used for arbitrarily shaped three-layer
sandwich plates with various boundary conditions and it is well adapted to parametric
and optimization studies. First, a parametric study was conducted to choose the objective
function, the constraints, and the pertinent design variables to use in the optimization
problem which consist in reducing the sound power transmitted by a viscoelastically
damped sandwich plate. Next, by constraining the acoustical behavior of the sandwich panel,
the surface mass of the sandwich structure was minimized. It is shown that a significant
reduction in the transmitted sound power can be achieved by selecting the appropriate
geometric configuration and damping layer material.},

abstract = {Reproducible operation at high performances of superconducting cavities is required for linear accelerators. High beta elliptical cavities are thus of concern and, to achieve required performances for such resonators, surface preparation including electropolishing is recommended. We have designed and operate a setup for electropolishing in the vertical position of multicell cavities in order to: (i) obtain high yield with large elliptical cavities for Superconducting Linac (SPL) or European Spallation Source
projects; (ii) develop a reference installation demonstrating that this process is appropriate for the large scale treatment of cavities in industry. The setup described here is the first one able to electropolish vertically multicell cavities with circulating acid and high safety standards. This equipment makes it possible to use a wide range of parameters such as voltage, acid flow rate, temperature, and nitrogen injection with an R&D purpose in mind. Optimization is studied using modeling with COMSOL software for different cavities. As examples, we present some results for the 704 MHz high-beta SPL cavity and the 1300 MHz International Linear Collider cavity and show the influence of cathode shape on both acid flow and electric field distribution during the process. Importance of the size of the cavity and first results achieved on single-cell and nine-cell cavities will be discussed.},

between innovation and internationalization for small to medium-size businesses. The relationship between the two
is mutually beneficial when penetration of new overseas markets takes place as a result of the competitive advantage
generated by innovation. In the same way, internationalization facilitates the optimization of innovative strategy
generating either an accelerated return on research and development costs or access to overseas technological
resources. To combine both domestic and overseas resources and competencies is, in effect, likely to generate an
additional technological advantage. Seen from this perspective, the internationalization process can be said to be a
catalyst for innovation. However, the consumption of resources and the need for expertise generated by the
simultaneous pursuit of these two development strategies can lead to conflict and constraint for an SME in terms of
allocation of both resources and competencies. The relationship between innovation and internationalization can
therefore become antagonistic.},

abstract = {Technology and finance have emerged as critical factors in the transition to a low-carbon economy, and thereby in international climate change negotiations. A potential source of such resources, that is already having an impact in countries around the world through foreign direct investment (FDI), is transnational corporations (TNCs). The scale and scope of this phenomenon remains under research, including sector-specific drivers pushing firms to invest abroad and the determinants leading to investments in specific host economies. This paper seeks to shed light on these issues through an analysis of FDI in renewable electricity generation and the manufacture of related equipment. FDI in these areas has grown tremendously over the period 2003-2010. Using a framework developed in the World Investment Report 2010, the contribution of various drivers and determinants are discussed as they relate to the observed trends in FDI. The findings suggest that those governments seeking to target FDI as a source of external climate change finance must be mindful in particular of the motivations of the investors they are targeting, as well as the state of their domestic energy policies.},

abstract = {The constrained-layer damping treatment is widely used to control the resonant response of vibrating structures,
particularly in the automotive and aerospace industries. This technique requires design tools in order to select the
best location, type and thickness of the damping and constraining-layer materials for optimum damping while
minimizing the total weight of the damping treatments. In this study, a numerical tool is presented to analyze the
vibration response of plates partially or fully covered with a constrained viscoelastic damping material. This tool
is based on a finite element approach. The undamped plate structure is modeled using a discrete Kirchhoff theory
(DKT) element. However, a sandwich plate element is specially derived to model the damped plate structure.
This element is formulated in such a way that it is compatible with the DKT element. The natural frequencies
and modal loss factors are derived from the modal strain energy method. The proposed approach is validated
by comparing predictions with the results of various examples published in the literature. Hence, this approach
is shown to predict accurately the damping characteristics of arbitrarily shaped sandwich plates, with different
material properties and boundary conditions, fully or partially covered with constrained viscoelastic layers. The
influence of the damping patch locations and the viscoelastic material's shear modulus on the vibration and
damping characteristics is investigated. To damp the plate effectively using partial coverage, the damping patches
must be distributed appropriately. To select the best damping patch locations, an indicator based on the energy
dissipated through the viscoelastic layer is proposed.},

abstract = {As influential as Michel Foucault may be in organization theory, several critics have seriouslyquestioned the epistemological foundations of the Foucauldian philosophical project (Ackroydand Thompson, 1995, 1999; Caldwell, 2007; Habermas, 1990; Newton, 1994, 1998; Reed, 2000;Thompson, 1993). If these remain unanswered, the Foucauldian approach could be relegated to aself-contradictory, ultra-relativist and partial reading grid of ?reality'. In this article, we develop aNietzschean reading of Foucault's thinking that offers answers to these criticisms, and reinstatesit as an independent philosophical project grounded in epistemological assumptions that arecoherent with its ontology and methodology. Finally, we suggest that, following Nietzsche, thewhole Foucauldian project can be approached as a genealogy of morals. Subsequently, we callon scholars to further explore the ?third generation' of Foucauldian studies which would studymanagement practices as morals understood as an ?art de vivre'.},

abstract = {B2B online reverse auctions technology
(ORAs) emerged as a popular tool for large buying firms
in the late 1990s. However, its growing use has been
accompanied by a corresponding increase in unethical
behaviors to a point that it has been described as the
technology that has triggered more ethical concerns in
the e-commerce arena than in any other segment of
activity. Our findings first indicate that the establishment
of formal ethical criteria based on the restrictive interpretation of ethics as honesty is not enough to resolve
the ethical issues that surround the introduction of a
technology because it ignores the ethical values shared
by most actors in the sector in terms of fairness. We
show the extent to which lobbying, rumor, technical
problems, and public discourse can impact on the
interpretations of the technology regarding ethics.
Highlighting the importance of incorporating ORAs
into the broader context of relationship management
that integrates ethics as fairness and not only ethics as
honesty serves to illustrate why the future of ORAs
might not be as bright as predicted by a theoretical
interpretation of the technology that is sometimes disconnected from the realities of the field.},

abstract = {Reproducible operation at high performances of sc cavities is required for superconducting linacs, at least in their high energy section in the case of accelerators for proton beams. High beta elliptical cavities are thus of concern, and, to achieve required performances for such cavities, surface preparation including electro-polishing (EP) is recommended. Moreover, for large dimension cavities we consider the EP treatment in vertical configuration (abbreviated as VEP) to be more appropriate. For this reasons, a VEP set-up has been designed at Saclay for the electro-polishing of muticells elliptical cavities. Chosen equipment will make it possible to use a wide range of parameters (voltage, flowrate, temperature, nitrogen inerting) with R&D purpose in mind.
Optimization will be done using modeling with COMSOL software for different cavities. As examples, we present some results for the 704 MHz high-beta SPL cavity and the 1300 MHz ILC cavity and show the influence of cathode shape on both acid flow and electric field
distribution during the process. At last, importance of the size of the cavity will be commented.},

constrained-layer damping treatment. This formulation takes into account the effects of fluid loading.
The governing coupled structural/acoustic equations of motion are solved using a modal approach combined
with an interpolation technique of the reduced radiation impedance matrix components of the
