Daniel Prud Homme

Dan Prud'homme is an associate professor at EMLV Business School and a non-resident research associate at Duke University's Kunshan, China campus. Previously, for a year after his doctoral studies, Dan was a visiting research fellow and a teaching fellow at University of Oxford (UK). Prior to joining academia, Dan worked in the private sector in Beijing and Shanghai, China specializing in intellectual property rights (IPR), innovation, and international trade management. He also managed relations with central and subcentral government officials in China, as well as European and US government officials. In the public sector, Dan has consulted for the World Bank, European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), Chinese Academy of Sciences, China's State Intellectual Property Office (now CNIPA), the European Commission, and other organizations. Dan holds a PhD from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (Sydney, Australia) (2017) and graduate degrees in law and public policy. Dan's research focuses on the interplay between IPR institutions and strategy, international business, and innovation -- especially in China, Europe, and the US. He also studies non-market, digital innovation, and other strategies outside the IPR context.
